There’s a kind of storm that doesn’t shake the house—
it shakes the soul. You know, the storms that rage in the darkness of night while lying in
bed.
The kind where questions echo.
Where faith feels thin.
Where God seems super quiet.
Thomas lived there for eight days.
Eight long days of silence.
Eight days of replaying what he missed.
Eight days of doubt growing roots.
And then—Jesus showed up.
Not to lecture him about his doubts.
Not with frustration.
But to show Thomas His scars.
That’s the heart of Christ.
He doesn’t demand that you figure it all out before you come to Him.
He invites you to bring your doubt…but He refuses to leave you in it.
Because doubt is a doorway—but it’s not meant to be a dwelling.
Jesus’ words cut through the darkness and doubt:
“Don’t be faithless… but believe.”
That’s not harsh. That’s not cold. That’s clarity.
And Thomas responds with one of the most powerful confessions in Scripture:
“My Lord and my God.”
Here is some incredible liberating truth:
Faith isn’t the absence of questions.
It’s the surrender of control.
It’s when you stop demanding God meet your terms…
and you bow to who He already is.
So today:
If the storm is loud—remember His voice.
If the questions rise—remember His Word.
If doubt lingers—remember His resurrection!
He is risen.
He is present.
He is Lord… and He is God.
Reflection Question: Where have I been asking God for more proof, instead of trusting
what He’s already revealed?
