Elder - Vice Chair

Position Overview: Vice Chair

The Elder Vice Chair at The Stone Church plays a pivotal role in supporting the leadership of the church, assisting the Elder Chair, and ensuring smooth functioning in the governance of the church. This position is responsible for collaborating with other church leaders, overseeing ministry initiatives, and providing spiritual guidance to the
congregation as part of the Elder team.

Key Responsibilities:

*Assisting the Elder Chair:
Support the Elder Chair in the development and implementation of church policies, strategies, and initiatives. Step in for the Elder Chair during their absence and assist with leadership duties.
*Leadership and Governance: Actively participate in Elder meetings, contributing to discussions, decision-making, and strategy formulation for the church. Ensure that church operations align with its vision, mission, and values.
*Ministry Oversight:
Oversee the health and effectiveness of ministry areas and support the Elder team in making necessary adjustments to meet the spiritual and community needs of the church.
*Spiritual Guidance and Support:
Provide spiritual oversight and counsel to church members, staff, and leaders. Offer prayer support and mentorship to both the Elder team and church members.
*Communication:
Serve as a liaison between the Elder team and the congregation, ensuring that key information is communicated clearly and effectively. Foster an environment of transparency and trust within the leadership team.
*Conflict Resolution:
Assist with resolving any conflicts or concerns that arise within the church, ensuring that solutions are grounded in biblical principles and align with church values.
*Strategic Planning:
Assist in long-term planning for the church’s growth, including evaluating and refining church programs, ministry activities, and mission outreach efforts.
*Committee Leadership:
Lead or support various church committees as needed, ensuring that the work of each aligns with the broader goals of the church.

Qualifications:

*Strong Christian faith, with a commitment to the beliefs and mission of theStone Church.
*Experience in church leadership or ministry, particularly in an Elder or similar role.
*Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
*Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
*Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
*A heart for service, and a passion for guiding others spiritually and emotionally.
*Availability to attend regular Elder meetings, church services, and other events as needed.
