Mirror Christ or Mirror Culture? 

John 11:45-57 

Key Point: In a world shaped by fear, power, and appearances, we are called to mirror Christ in His salvation, His sacrifice, and even His solitude. 

I. The Influence of His Salvation (vv. 45–48) 

1. Some will follow Him. 
2. Some will fear Him. 

II. The Impact of His Sacrifice (vv. 49–53) Offer your body as a living sacrifice. Holy and pleasing to God. Jesus embodied this and it freaked out the religious. They feared man more than they feared God.  

1. His life disrupted personal interests. 
2. His life dismantled institutions.  
3. His life divided the followers from the fake.  

III. The Importance of His Solitude (vv. 54–57) 

1. The Jews withdrew to purify themselves.  
2. Jesus withdrew to prepare Himself to be the Passover. 
3. The crowds pondered if Jesus would show up. 
   1. The temple’s authority purpose: power & control over the people.
